Certified Financial Planner

Hi, I'm Tim!

Though my younger self always brings me back to hockey, my old soul is at peace on the golf links. Yes, golf— the sport one takes up when they can no longer play any others. Being from the small town of Courtice and growing up in a blue-collar household, my mom and dad made tremendous sacrifices so that my sister and I could experience the kind of childhoods that they, themselves, simply could not.

Memories of how my parents put their interests— and lives— on hold so that I could compete at the highest level of tournament golf were how I first began to understand lessons in asset management. In hindsight, there was no question that I possessed a perception of both sport and the world around me differently than my peers. I was a salmon, and I knew that my internal compass would forever lead me upstream.

As a former Team Canada and NCAA Division 1 scholarship student-athlete, my experiences lead me to discover some life-changing notions. Some of which have since matured to become core beliefs, and areas of personal interest. Most notably, my recognition of the differences between who we are and what we do, as well as an evolving understanding of success. It was these same discoveries that lead me to prepare for a professional career— learning the business aspect of sport so that I could one day become self-sufficient and not have to rely on others for my own financial sustainability.

With nearly a decade of advisory tenure to this point in my career of prudently advising Canadian individuals and businesses, Kind Wealth piqued my interest. Not because of its being one of the few virtuous financial planning firms guiding people to better understand their relationship with money; rather, from a client perspective, and its ability to empower people to create realities that they could not imagine any differently. That’s a pretty powerful premise.

As Financial Planner, I welcome the responsibility of practicing in a manner that serves the best interests of my clientele. As a human, I recognize an internal desire to be socially responsible. As a result, I’ve involved myself in impacting some of the ubiquitous social issues present in professional sport, as well as having supported a myriad of grassroots initiatives, which parallel some of my inherently genetic altruistic values.

Thanks, Mom and Dad!
